About this Opportunity
The Royal Flying Doctors Service SA/NT is currently looking for a candidate with a strong interest in aviation to join our team. You’ve completed your Cert II Aeroskills or Cert IV Aeroskills (Avionics) and you’re keen to take the next step with either the Cert IV or Diploma.
Reporting directly to the Senior Base Engineer and alongside a large workforce of LAME, as the Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be currently studying to perform scheduled inspections, fault diagnosis and repair, modification of airframes and airframe mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.

Under the supervision and direction of the LAME, you will:

• Interpret and use aviation maintenance and RFDS maintenance manuals.
• Perform basic hand skills.
• Remove and install aircraft parts.
• Work towards testing and troubleshooting aircraft parts, systems and components.
• Learn to inspect, repair and maintain aircraft.
• Ensure aircraft are clean and free from hazards.
• Maintain RFDS aircraft stores and support equipment
• Attend Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as required.

To be considered for the role you require:

• Ideally you have commenced or completed your Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
• High School (Year 12) graduates with strong STEM academic results may also be considered.
• Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
