ART THERAPIST (PSYCHOTHERAPIST) or TEACHER
HYBRID Position: client direct sessions in clinic in North Brisbane with admin / preparation work from home
Synergy Learning and Therapy, a business first started in 2005, is a ‘one stop shop’ for allied health therapies (child, student and adult). We currently offer Art Therapy, Psychology, Educational Therapy and Tutoring and Early Learning support.
We are now looking for a part-time Art Therapist to cater for 8 - 12 clients per fortnight (part-time) for afternoon, after -school appointments and alternate Saturday therapy sessions (8:30 - 2:30pm). We also offer a term/semester break multi-disciplinary program of Therapy Blitz where allied health therapists and educators work together to provide group therapy.
Days required: Negotiable. Currently, Thursday, Friday and alternate Saturdays.
Start Date: Negotiable but ideally as soon as possible.
Salary: Negotiable and pro-rata (part-time) in accordance with qualifications, skills and experience.
Contract Length: 12 months (Casual or Permanent Part-time preferred)
Necessary Training and Qualifications:

• Completed, appropriate tertiary qualifications from an Australian university (preferred);
• PREFERRED Current registration with Australia New Zealand and Asia Creative Arts Therapist Association (ANZACATA) or Queensland College of Teachers (QTA)
• Working with Children Blue Card or eligibility to apply for one. Yellow Card a bonus.

Advantageous:

• Previous experience working with children with behavioural issues in this field or related field:
• Own car (no mobile work but we are a distance from the train station):
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team:
• A mature and unflappable attitude and a strong work ethic: and
• Enthusiasm, reliability and an inherent interest in assisting others.

Key skills include:

• Direct and relevant experience with primary and secondary aged clients and their parents, particularly those with behavioural issues and/or where learning delays and challenges are preventing a child or student from optimising his or her capabilities
• Proven capability in establishing rapport with clients, parents/caregivers and key stakeholders;
• A proven ability to work effectively within a team of dedicated professionals as well as independently: and
• Good case management and time management skills:

This position is currently part-time, requires some face-to-face with clients in North Brisbane but allows for administration at home. Peak appointment times are afternoon / after school and Saturday mornings (alternate Saturdays only). While new graduates are welcome to apply, ANZACATA or QCT registration is essential.
