About the role
TAFE NSW has an exciting permanent part time (0.5 FTE, 17.5 hours per week) opportunity at their Tamworth campus for motivated individuals with current experience in Early Childhood to join as an Assessor and collaborate with our experienced Teachers and Head Teachers to carry out student assessments.
An Assessor is a rewarding and dynamic educational role and will carry out independent assessments and grading for students, with a focus to support students in achieving the completion of tasks and identify areas that may require further training.
Key duties include: -
  • Develop and conduct assessments, resit assessments
  • Provide feedback and support to students
  • Motive and encourage students to complete tasks, written assessments and activities
  • Administrative duties relating to students’ assessments and records
Note: This role does not teach or deliver training.
About You

We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals who have ability to meet the following Essential Requirements:
  • Hold a professional qualification at Diploma or higher in Early Childhood
  • Hold the TAE40116 Assessor Skillset or equivalent
  • Three years post-qualification experience in Early Childhood Education, gained no longer than five years ago (minimum)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct assessments, validations and moderations in the VET environment.
  • Understanding of the content of learning materials and the processes used in the discipline, and a commitment to maintain professional currency.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and good organisational skills.
  • Commitment and ability to provide feedback in an adult learning environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team.
  • Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
