- Coordinate and provide high-level executive assistant support to the Co-Chairs of the Australian Stroke Alliance (ASA), ensuring operational efficiency and progress across the MRFF program.
- Play a pivotal role in supporting innovative national research aimed at early stroke intervention, working closely with key stakeholders and contributing to the success of cutting-edge brain scanning technology development.

The Executive Assistant at the Melbourne Brain Centre, Royal Melbourne Hospital, plays a key role in supporting the Co-Chairs of the Australian Stroke Alliance (ASA), a national research program focused on innovative stroke intervention technologies.
This position provides high-level administrative support, including diary management, meeting coordination & secretariat duties, travel arrangements, and liaison with key stakeholders.
The role also supports ASA Board and committee activities, manages research-related logistics, and contributes to research development initiatives.
This role will be required to be on site Monday to Thursday with Friday WFH.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Co-Chairs of the ASA and several senior researchers.
- Managing relevant research meetings including all logistics, diary management, liaison with delegates and record keeping.
- Handling the preparation of board and associated committees including minute taking, preparation of agendas, research documents and reports for departmental meetings.
- Providing administrative support to researchers including maintaining accurate CVs and editing documents.
You will possess substantial expertise in providing high-level secretarial support to senior staff.
Your role will require excellent organisational skills, the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
You will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, adaptable in managing multiple projects, and able to contribute effectively as part of a professional administrative team.
Experience in the scientific, higher education, or medical sectors, along with knowledge of university or hospital policies, would be advantageous.
You will also have:
- Completion of a relevant tertiary level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
- Exceptional logistical and organisational skills.
- The ability to take minutes of meetings and support the Co-Chairs and executive in preparation for and holding of Board and sub-committee meetings, including preparing agendas, assembly and distribution of papers.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgment, diplomacy, tact and discretion.
- The ability to demonstrate versatility, enthusiasm, self-motivation and initiative.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
