Additional Information:
- These roles are 24hrs - 50hrs/fortnight.
- As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
- You must be available to work shift times between 6:00am – 9:30pm.
About this work area
As an IKEA Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Goods Receiving Co-worker (30hrs/fortnight):
- Preparing the receiving area by checking the order list and ensure adequate space for incoming goods.
- Inspecting the cleanliness and condition of the delivery truck and review the storage temperature history log.
- Unloading the goods from the truck in a safe and competent manner. Liaising with the truck driver to unload goods if conditions are deemed unsafe.
- Measuring and recording temperatures to ensure they meet HACCP standards.
- Inspecting products for visible damage & contamination, verifying quantity/weight, and checking labelling.
- Confirming that received goods match the delivery note and order.
Bistro Co-worker (40hrs/fortnight):
- Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
- Food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels.
- Cleaning, wiping down benchtops.
- Active selling, cash handling and customer service.
- Heating up meatballs & hotdogs in the ovens.
Kitchen Production Co-worker (50hrs/fortnight):
- Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with food standards by keeping it clean and organised.
- Food preparation and cooking with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
- Inspecting food items for quality freshness
- Take corrective actions to ensure consistency when cooking food.
- Prioritising strict cooking timelines and multi-tasking under pressure during rush hours.
- Cooking and heating food in ovens & fryers.
Restaurant Co-worker – Commercial (24hrs/fortnight):
- Ensuring your stations are clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
- Food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels.
- Clearing tables, wiping down benchtops and stocktake.
- Working the cash register, handling the money and providing excellent customer service.
As an IKEA Food Co-worker you are:
- Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation.
- Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is highly regarded.
- Enthusiastic about working within a team of like-minded people.
- Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
