About Hallett Power Station
Built in 2001, Hallett Power Station is a highly flexible gas-fired peaking power station consisting of 13 open-cycle gas turbines with a total capacity of 235MW. The power station generates electricity by using natural gas supplied from the Moomba pipeline.
The site is located in an open rural environment in South Australia, approximately 190km north of Adelaide, and about 100km east of Port Pirie. Our team reside around the beautiful area in towns such as Peterborough, Jamestown, Clare, Laura & Burra.
The Opportunity
Reporting to Hallett Asset Leader, you will provide engineering support and asset management of Gas Turbines and associated Balance of Plant, working in partnership with our sites’ Maintenance Lead and Operator/Maintainers.
This role will see you lead and manage technical engineering and maintenance activities onsite including owning the relevant Life Management Plans, Asset Management Plans, and maintenance routine strategies. Additionally, you will provide leadership in engineering systems such as Management of Technical Change and enhance maintenance and operations activities through provision of technical fault finding, RCA, project management and outage support.
What are we looking for in a successful candidate?
  • Technical expertise in power plant mechanical/electrical engineering including gas turbines and balance of plant.
  • Provide leadership and support for the team in maintenance and uplift of key engineering processes and systems such as Management of Technical Change, and Operational and process safety risk assessments.
  • Prepare, plan and execute plant changes in line with good Management of Technical Change practice and EA procedures and standards
  • Deliver detailed, in-depth technical advice regarding plant performance, integrity, and operational limitations.
  • The Ability to Initiate projects to enhance plant flexibility, operational capability, process and thermal efficiency, and environmental and safety performance.
Role Capabilities and qualifications:
  • Preferred engineering bachelor’s degree (in relevant field) for the State of South Australia or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Minimum 5 Years’ engineering (in relevant field) and asset management experience or equivalent industrial experience.
  • A proven ability to comprehend and work consistently and reliably toward the achievement of project goals by working with others and enlisting others' support.
  • Proven track record of Asset Management principles in a commercially focused environment
  • Experienced and proficient with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo
  • High level reasoning ability to facilitate analysis and problem solving in complex situations
