Our Facilities Management Team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Estate Management teams through the development and implementation of consistent processes, procedures, services, reporting tools and Facilities Management software solutions.
Why your role matters
The Minor Works Project Manager plays a key part within Estate Management and is responsible for managing the design, planning, procurement and delivery of Minor Works Projects. This role oversees a diverse and complex portfolio including facilities management, building maintenance, building services, repairs and Improvements. You will have the opportunity to manage exciting projects outside of the norm including technical installations, research laboratories and integrated building services.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for leading the design, planning, procurement and delivery of Minor Works Projects for facilities management, building maintenance, building services, repairs and improvements across a complex and diverse portfolio. You will have demonstrated experience in and be expected to undertake the following duties:
  • Collaborate with Estate and Facilities Management teams to ensure projects are efficient, high-quality, and minimally disruptive.
  • Manage projects, assemble consultant teams, and manage project funding and reporting.
  • Oversee design, tender, and delivery phases, ensuring projects meet briefs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Lead stakeholder consultation and project management to ensure engagement and understanding.
  • Provide leadership to project staff and consultants, managing contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Advise and report to the Senior Manager on project matters, resolving issues and communicating outcomes effectively.
  • Actively participate in project work groups and committees involving clients/stakeholders, consultants, contractors and staff to achieve effective project co-ordination.
  • Apply appropriate UNSW and EM project policies and procedures in the co-ordination, execution and review of allocated projects to ensure public accountability.
About You
  • Qualification in Building and or Project Management
  • Experience managing projects in a complex and diverse building environment
  • Experience in planning and project management work with strict time/budget constraints
  • Knowledge of and experience in contract administration
  • Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Proven experience in financial management including budgeting and project management.
