In this role you will be a part of the newly established First Nations Division and will assist in undertaking policy research and analysis and provide high quality, well researched advice and contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, review and continuous improvement of legislation and policy frameworks for the First Nations Division.
The First Nations Division is a close-knit team and positively contributing to working relationships and ensuring approachability is essential, demonstrating empathy, respect, teamwork and compassion.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Undertake policy research and analysis and provide high quality, well researched advice and contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, review and continuous improvement of legislation and policy frameworks.- Actively contribute to the ongoing development and/or review of internal policy, practices and procedures and service improvement aspects.- Provide timely high-level advice to senior management concerning decisions and emerging trends in First Nations cultural capability to inform policy amendments.- Prepare submissions including Ministerial Briefing Notes, Executive Briefing Notes and briefings for various state and national forums on matters of interest to senior leadership and Government.- Negotiate and consult with clients, committees, agents and other stakeholders in relation to First Nations Communities.- Coordinate or undertake special projects to achieve QPS corporate goals and strategic priorities.
Mandatory
- This is an identified position. It is a genuine occupational requirement that an Identified position be filled by a First Nations person as permitted by and arguable under Section 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991).- It is strongly preferred that candidates have an already established relationship and cultural connection within the relevant region of the position they are seeking.
