Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Tipping Point

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to manage the Wellcome Trust-funded Tipping Point project. This international project investigates relapse prediction in individuals with bipolar disorder using objective measurements of sleep and circadian parameters through actigraphy. The role, under the guidance of Professor Greg Murray and Professor Denny Meyer, involves managing the project’s activities in Australia and assisting with coordination across Australia, New Zealand, India, and Germany.

The Fellow will oversee daily project operations, including staff and participant recruitment, data collection, and progress reporting, accounting for about 50% of the role. The other 50% will focus on contributing to the project’s design and analysis, collaborating with lived experience experts, and producing high-quality research outputs. The Fellow will also gain experience in supervising students and exploring new research questions.

This position offers the chance to work with a leading global network of mood disorder researchers and develop skills and collaborations essential for a future leadership role in mental health research.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:


  • Knowledge and experience in research methods relevant to mental health, particularly clinical trials or prospective observational studies
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop a good rapport with participants, investigators and project staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of ethical principles relevant to conducting research with clinical populations

Qualifications
Ph D in psychology or other relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
