Your Opportunity
The Senior Consultant (Program Delivery), World Skills Queensland is responsible for facilitating the effective and efficient delivery of World Skills Queensland and other career pathway development initiatives, activities, programs and competitions.
This position reports to the Manager, World Skills Queensland and provides operational leadership, mentoring and guidance to the positions within the World Skills Queensland team.
This is a Permanent, Full-time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Acacia Ridge however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level project management to World Skills Queensland programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with State Government and Industry funding arrangements for the promotion of vocational career pathways.
  • Facilitate and participate in the delivery of World Skills Queensland programs and initiatives through:
  • liaison with relevant stakeholders;
  • identification and resolution of issues;
  • researching and securing appropriate venue(s); and
  • ensuring adequate program support including but not limited to sponsorship, marketing and promotion of events, volunteers and other resources.
  • Manage the budget for World Skills Queensland programs, including participating in budget planning cycles, allocating funding/resources, and providing comprehensive reports and analysis of financial performance to the Manager, World Skills Queensland.
  • Prepare reports, contract submissions, briefings, event plans and schedules relating to World Skills Queensland programs and initiatives.
  • Establish, cultivate and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships throughout relevant industry groups, TAFE Queensland, other Government departments, private organisations (including Registered Training Organisations – RTOs), other applicable regulatory bodies, program delivery staff, program sponsors and event volunteers.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures to monitor and review the effectiveness of World Skills Queensland programs and initiatives, ensuring a process of continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in strategic and business planning activities which support the growth and delivery of World Skills programs and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the World Skills Queensland team including providing operational leadership, informal mentoring and guidance, and identifying opportunities for self-development and development of others.
  • Represent the interests of World Skills Queensland and/or TAFE Queensland in forums, committees and working parties relevant to the delivery of Worldskills Queensland and other career pathway development programs and securing of funding contracts and sponsorship.
  • Contribute to the success of cultural change within the organisation through promoting and modelling the established TAFE Queensland values of Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility, Showing Initiative, and Safety First.
Requirements

Mandatory requirements:
  • Project management experience.
Highly desirable:
The applicant's possession of a training, trade and/or industry-related background would be advantageous.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Demonstrated high-level project management skills including program leadership, allocation and management of resources, coordination and prioritisation of a broad range of activities, and the review and analysis of program outcomes.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders; influencing, consulting and negotiating effectively, and working constructively with team members and other TAFE Queensland employees at all levels.
  • Knowledge of legislation, policy, procedure and associated frameworks relevant to the vocational education and training (VET) sector and demonstrated ability to maintain currency in relation to knowledge and relevance of industry trends.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to successfully manage complex issues and propose workable solutions to facilitate successful outcomes for both clients and the organisation.
  • Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
