Join our team as a part-time or full-time Speech Pathologist in Bellerive, Tasmania. You'll work within a person- and family-centred approach alongside an interdisciplinary team, focusing on enhancing communication, social skills, and feeding abilities across various settings, including home, school, work, and the wider community. This position is ideal for both experienced professionals and newly graduated Speech Pathologists who are passionate about making a difference.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Manage a clinical caseload, adhering to service guidelines and external requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive speech pathology assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
- Provide individual and group services in communication, social skills, and feeding.
- Foster a holistic and integrated service through effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, including our Dog Assisted Therapy program.
- Assess, prescribe, and train the use of assistive and augmentative communication.
- Liaise closely with service providers and community networks to ensure successful outcomes for clients.
- Maintain timely and accurate records and related assessments, case plans, and documentation of services within the Client Management System.
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent.
- Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) approved by Speech Pathology Australia.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload, consistently meeting objectives and deadlines.
- High level of interpersonal skills with strong autonomy and decision-making capabilities.
- Expertise in implementing person- and family-centred interventions.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Commitment to the organization’s philosophy, objectives, and mission.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- National Police Clearance and Working with Vulnerable People Check (NDIS endorsed) or willingness to obtain them.
- Sound knowledge of current philosophy, legislation, standards, and policies relating to disability in both the state and national arena.
- Understanding of the Disability and Community Sectors.
- Experience in providing occupational therapy services to a paediatric disability caseload.
- Proven ability to manage a client caseload, consistently achieving service delivery targets and deadlines.
- Understanding of funding models, specifically the NDIS.
