About The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated speech pathologist to join a supportive team providing high quality services to patients admitted to Bankstown Hospital.
This position is a rotational level 1/2 position with opportunity to develop skills in dysphagia and communication management across a number of different caseloads, including VFSS and FEES and outpatients.
The successful applicant will be well supported and have access to supervision and professional development.
What you'll be doing
To provide a high quality speech pathology service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting.
The speech pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in adult caseloads.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in modifying and adapting assessments and interventions to meet the need of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
