VET Casual Teacher - Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a VET Casual teacher. The Swinburne VET casual Teacher is required to inspire, engage and educate our students for the 21st century. A VET Casual Teacher will apply industry-leading practices and leverage modern learning technologies and contemporary teaching methods. Working closely with a team of educational professionals, they will be responsible for the planning, delivery, assessment, evaluation, and compliance of top-tier education and training programs. In this role, teachers must customize and adjust programs to cater to the varied needs of learners and clients, spanning from certificate courses to diplomas and associate degrees.

The Trades Engineering and Technology Advanced Construction Technology Department is to appoint suitably qualified and experienced teachers to meet expected further growth in 2024 and beyond. Teaching will be for units from our current Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural). The requirement is to predominantly carry out teaching and assessment duties within these programs, on campus, online (or online live), hybrid and in workplaces (face-to-face).

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Current building, construction, or related engineering industry experience of at least 3 years.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to Building and Construction teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients
  • Current and extensive technical knowledge of the building and construction industry legislations and planning requirements
  • Current and extensive technical knowledge of the building and construction industry contracts, tender process, estimating and project management

Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116
  • Current and extensive technical knowledge of the National Construction Code and workplace safety legislation
  • Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) or equivalent qualifications or have sufficient and current vocational competence that would allow for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process to be completed.
