Job Title: Accountant
Job Type: Full time
Job location: Bahrain
Job Description
● Day to day management of the accounting function, using the Group’s accounting systems and implementing Group accounting policies and procedures.
● Establishing local policies and procedures to ensure that all regulatory requirements are understood and met on a timely basis, including liaising with the auditors and other professional advisers as necessary.
● Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all transactional data.
● Manage the Group's financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
● Manage payroll and employee benefits programs.
● Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and ensure that they comply with accounting principles.
● Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT laws and regulations.
● Coordinate and facilitate external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
● Conduct regular financial analysis and provide reports and recommendations to management to improve financial performance.
● Conduct weekly cash forecasting and cash management.
● Building strong and effective relationships with commercial and operational management and the Group finance function to facilitate the smooth running of projects and providing timely and effective financial insight.
● Arrange and maintain papers of the Group in an effective manner ensuring retrieval of these papers easily in the future
Skills:
● Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Attention to detail and accuracy.
● Strong organizational and time-management skills.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or relevant degree.
● Additional certification like CA Inter or CMA inter is a plus.
● At least 3 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related field in GCC preferably in Saudi or Bahrain.
● The candidate must be available in Bahrain.
● Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
● Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
● Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and analysis.
● Experience managing payroll and employee benefits programs.
● Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Vlook ups and pivot tables) and other accounting software.
