Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Procurement Head
Application Question(s):
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Develop, Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to optimize performance and foster a culture of excellence.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and terms to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads and senior management, to understand procurement requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in procurement processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation within the procurement function.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Prepare and present regular reports and updates on procurement activities, performance metrics, and key initiatives to senior management.
- 4 years of experience in leading the procurement department.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing procurement strategies and SOPs that drive cost savings, improve efficiency, and enhance supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
