About the workplace
This is a part-time, 6-month contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
As an Analyst, MECE Business Insights & Reporting, you will play a critical role in supporting the development, enhancement, and delivery of sales and business reporting frameworks that drive member growth, retention, and strategic insights across the organization. Leveraging technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, Excel, Dynamics 365 CRM, and other tools, you will ensure data accuracy and governance while providing actionable insights for stakeholders. This role will collaborate across departments to meet business needs, contribute to process improvements through automation and efficiency initiatives, and support the continuous development of technical skills, fostering team growth and knowledge-sharing. Through this work, you will help ensure that the organization's reporting aligns with best practices and industry standards, enabling data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
A typical day would involve:
Contribute to the development and support of sales and business reporting frameworks
- Use technical skills in SQL, Excel, Share Point, and Power BI to assist in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of sales and business reporting frameworks.
- Ensure that reporting supports pipeline management, sales activities, and member outreach strategies aimed at driving member growth, primacy, and retention across MECE.
- Adhere to established data governance principles to maintain the integrity, security, and accuracy of data in all reports.
Support member-centric insights
- Leverage Dynamics 365 CRM to extract, analyze, and optimize member service data, generating actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support business decisions, with a focus on addressing inequities that may impact marginalized identities.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s reporting aligns with external benchmarks.
Develop technical skills and support team growth
- Participate in team learning and development by improving technical skills in areas like Power BI, analytics, and data management tools.
- Actively seek opportunities to learn from colleagues and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by seeking clarification on direction and maintaining open communication with leadership.
Collaborate across departments
- Work closely with teams such as data groups, ITS, HR, Marketing, and Compliance to gather requirements and deliver reports that address business challenges.
- Communicate data findings effectively, translating complex information into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate to align reporting efforts with organizational goals and ensure consistency across departments.
Contribute to process improvements
- Assist in identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency in reporting processes.
- Support efforts to streamline workflows and prioritize tasks, ensuring alignment with team objectives.
- Help maintain and refine dashboards and reporting systems to ensure they remain accurate, relevant, and valuable.
You have:
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Power Query, Excel, Share Point, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Strong data modeling and visualization skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 CRM.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.

- Analytical – You have the research and analytical skills to perform business intelligence techniques, data manipulation using data analysis and visualization tools

The salary range for the role is $64,500 to $96,500 and a candidate’s offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($80,500). The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
