Horizontal Directional Drilling - Driller / Locator

Total Horizontal is a full-service Shallow Utility Contractor that specializes in providing safe, efficient, and reliable services to our clients around Western Canada.
Our experienced field team, along with our fleet of modern equipment and electronic quality management systems ensure that our project is completed safely and to our specification.
Total Horizontal Drilling is currently seeking a driller & locator for work across Alberta. At this time we are welcoming applications from those with experience with rigs from 10k to 50k of pullback. Wages noted are minimum for experienced hands, increased wage rate dependent on performance and driving license. Must haves:
  • Experience with F5 Falcon series locators and Vermeer S3 equipment
  • Experience directing drill crews
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Standard First Aid
  • Confined Space
  • CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
Responsibilities
  • Transport drilling equipment to and from location
  • Set up / tear down drilling equipment on site
  • Efficiently install conduits at appropriate depths
  • Ensure the safe operation of directional drills without supervision
  • Read and interpret construction drawings
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment, and maintain drilling equipment in excellent working order
  • Complete progress summary at the end of the day
  • Change drill tooling
  • Complete equipment servicing and minor repairs
  • Mix drill fluids as required
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
  • Additional duties as job required
Paid Travel, Living Allowance when working out of town.
Open to Canadian residents only.

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:
  • Locating: 1 year (preferred)
  • 50k rigs and smaller: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

  • Class 3 or 1 (preferred)
  • First Aid (preferred)
