INTEGRATION AND DATA ANALYST
Parian Logistics provides corporate shared support services and third-party logistics to a group of affiliated Canadian retailers, including Urban Barn, Suzanne’s, Warehouse One, Ricki’s, Bootlegger, and cleo. Parian Logistics’ corporate support services include accounting and finance, logistics and distribution, marketing and e-commerce, customer service, information technology, human resources, real estate and store construction services, and more.
This role is a member of our IT Applications team. This team plays a critical role for the IT business-driven agenda in two key areas: to effectively expand the business’ use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and to provide an optimally integrated applications architecture that cost-effectively enables business objectives. This team is a highly skilled and collaborative group of individuals who plan, coordinate, architect, and execute all activities related to the integration and delivery of software programs, applications, and 3rd party solutions that enable business goals. This team also designs, develops, and implements data models for enterprise-level applications and systems.
The Integration and Data Analyst role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the integration of data across various sources into an organized and unified view. This individual is also responsible for the monitoring of data flow between databases, servers, and Cloud services to identify and implement the most suitable Data Integration (“DI”) architecture for the organization’s needs. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.

What you’ll be a part of
  • Orchestrate data integration projects and corresponding strategies between business areas and the Applications team
  • Plan, execute, and manage the strategic integration of new data and data stores into existing or new systems and infrastructure throughout the enterprise, including introduction of Cloud services as applicable.
  • Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure
  • Design and develop ETL processes
  • Design data stores to ensure interoperability with reporting and BI platforms
  • Be a source of innovative ideas for dashboard and report design and development
  • Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Ensure that integration planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision.
  • Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.
  • Revise DI architectures when required to be compatible with changing business needs and client standards so that all legal, compliance, and operational requirements, such as data sovereignty, regulatory security and privacy policies, and service level agreements (SLA), are accounted for.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality through the introduction and enforcement of information handling processes and organization of the DI processes.
  • Conduct research on emerging DI products, languages, and standards in support of procurement, development, security, and integration efforts in relation to the Cloud, BI, and big data management.
  • Manage the selection, deployment, and maintenance of any DI tools (as-a-service (DIaa S) or DI On-premise) as deemed appropriate for the organization.
  • Ensure the collection and coherent interpretation of the various business processes affected by integration efforts.
  • Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration, or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.
  • Evaluate results of integration projects, then report and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Frequently compare DI solutions with those available in the market to assess and monitor levels of service provided by current vendors.
  • Where applicable, investigate and qualify potential integration solutions in the Cloud, On-Premise, or in a Hybrid arrangement to better allocate resources.
What you bring
  • At least 3 years of related work experience in Data Integration at an enterprise level
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with relational databases and dimensional modeling as well as semantic layer architecting
  • Experience working in Agile development environments is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to support the execution of multiple simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or computer engineering
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional databases between disparate business units and systems
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping
  • Extensive experience with data integration architectures
  • Technically fluent in programming languages and ETL tools
  • Previous exposure to Cloud DI and management
  • Strong background in risk management methodologies as they relate to integration and Cloud computing
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated DI tools
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of network protocols and standards
  • Strong understanding of end-user needs and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Able to conduct research into application integration issues and products
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Ability to quickly attain excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
