POSITION SUMMARY
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Financial Services department is seeking a professional, detail-oriented and adaptable individual for the auxiliary full-time position of Financial Services Administrator.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Operations the Financial Services Administrator provides direct support to a variety of Financial Services’ operations functions including full cycle accounts payables and receivables, accounting and financial reporting and annual budget preparation. This position maintains in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and Assembly financial policies and procedures to process MLA travel claims and allowances and support constituency office accounting and expense procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program of at least two (2) years or a combination of three (3) years of education, related training and experience.
- Successful completion of post-secondary courses in accounting or business.
- Experience with information management and privacy laws and best practices.
- Experience with accounting software, preferably Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
- Experience with electronic workflow software, such as Docu Ware or Case Ware is considered an asset.
