Duties

Provision of clinical guidance, professional advice, training, assistance and regional support in the planning and the delivery of integrated health services by the professional practice team, in accordance with professional standards, for institutions of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), community sites, regional treatment center and medical hospital within a region.

Supports the Regional Interdisciplinary Team of Professional Practice Leads; monitor compliance with national policies and guidelines for professional practice, and examines indicators of adherence to assist management and the region in ensuring service delivery is consistent with professional regulatory standards and CSC policies; address areas for quality improvement across all professional standards; seeks necessary advice from profession-specific experts.

Assists team with the delivery of integrated health services; evaluates the effectiveness and quality of services provided; participates in accreditation and quality assurance processes; and offers recommendations and support to the Regional Interdisciplinary Team and other managers in identifying the client’s health needs, in determining CSC’s service requirements, and in evaluating integrated interventions and practices.

Work environment

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering court imposed sentences of a term of two years or more. CSC manages various security level institutions and supervised offenders under conditional release in the community. CSC's mandate is to contribute to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and human control.
