Duties
Provision of clinical guidance, professional advice, training, assistance and regional support in the planning and the delivery of integrated health services by the professional practice team, in accordance with professional standards, for institutions of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), community sites, regional treatment center and medical hospital within a region.Supports the Regional Interdisciplinary Team of Professional Practice Leads; monitor compliance with national policies and guidelines for professional practice, and examines indicators of adherence to assist management and the region in ensuring service delivery is consistent with professional regulatory standards and CSC policies; address areas for quality improvement across all professional standards; seeks necessary advice from profession-specific experts.
Assists team with the delivery of integrated health services; evaluates the effectiveness and quality of services provided; participates in accreditation and quality assurance processes; and offers recommendations and support to the Regional Interdisciplinary Team and other managers in identifying the client’s health needs, in determining CSC’s service requirements, and in evaluating integrated interventions and practices.
Work environment
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering court imposed sentences of a term of two years or more. CSC manages various security level institutions and supervised offenders under conditional release in the community. CSC's mandate is to contribute to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and human control.Positions to be filled: 1

- Registration as a Registered Nurse OR a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in a province or territory of Canada. (In order to be appointed, candidates must be registered in the province or territory where the position is being staffed.)
- Experience in providing professional advice and consultation on professional practice standards.
- Experience in implementing of initiatives and/or programs in interdisciplinary practice settings.
- Knowledge of legislation and policies that influence the delivery of health service within a Correctional milieu such as acts, the mandate, priorities, Commissioner’s Directives, guidelines and/or accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of current and emerging health/education technologies, trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of professional standards such as ethical standards, resources, human rights and/or health.

- Recognized bachelors, masters or doctoral degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education or other specialty relevant to the position.
- Experience in managing financial resources.
- Experience working in a correctional environment.
- Experience in managing human resources.
- Willingness to travel
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
