Job Description
Red Rock is seeking to add a Research Scientist or Engineer with a Ph D and a background in the development and evaluation of biomaterials for bone repair. The research focus of this position is to develop best in class bone graft substitutes and allografts with enhanced osteoregenerative properties.
Location: Toronto (65 International Blvd)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 per year based on experience
Duties & Responsibilities
1) Perform literature reviews
2) Produce product prototypes
3) Develop and conduct experiments to evaluate prototypes
4) Perform data analyses and write reports
5) Prepare documents to support regulatory submissions to US-FDA and Health Canada
6) Prepare research articles and white papers for publication
Critical Competencies required
Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical device design and development (required)
Knowledge of bone graft substitutes (required)
Knowledge of bone biology and regeneration (preferred)
Knowledge of animal models of bone repair (preferred)
Knowledge of data analysis and basic statistics (required)
Skills:
Good oral and written communication skills (required).
Experience performing mammalian cell culture (required)
Experience performing animal studies related to tissue repair (preferred)
Experience performing basic biochemical assays (protein, ELISA, enzymatic) (preferred)
Qualifications
Ph D and post-doctoral fellowship (required) with 2 years industry experience (preferred)
