POSITION: RESERVATIONS ASSOCIATE
REPORTS TO: RESERVATIONS MANAGER
ROLE PURPOSE:
In this role, you will be working with our in-house reservations team for our two hotels, the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center in Downtown Vancouver, and the Westin Wall Centre Vancouver Airport in Richmond. You will work with various property management systems and tools to ensure that calls are converted in a friendly manner as customer service is of utmost importance.

What your day will look like:

• Answer all incoming calls in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Provide guests with the requested information concerning the city, the hotel and its services.
• Obtain the necessary information from the guests and enter it into the Property Management System (PMS).
• Promote the Marriott Bonvoy program.
• Must be effective in sales and upselling.
• Computer literacy and typing skills required.
• Provide high quality servicing to internal and external customers.
• Process all incoming reservations received via rooming lists, emailed or in-house correspondence, Housing bureau forms, email or facsimiles.
• Mail confirmation and literature requests or reply via email, facsimile, and or administrative message when requested.
• File daily reservation information and other correspondence.
• Answer questions concerning reservations for employees and other departments including but not limited to Sales, Meetings & Events and the Executive Office.

Your experience and skills include:

• Excellent guest service skills are required.
• Previous guest service experience in a hotel is an asset.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Must be able to assist guests with their concerns maintaining professional standards and problem solve effectively.
• Must be able to perform professionally and politely under pressure.
• Must have excellent knowledge of the city, including, local events, restaurants, shopping and attractions.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be a team player but able to work independently.
• Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English.
• Ability to be persuasive with telephone sales skills.
• Proficiency with Galaxy/Lightspeed, MS Word and Excel knowledge an asset.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Valid Work or Study Permits – 1 Year Minimum Validity.
