Software Quality Assurance Analyst (Manual) - Canada

About the Role
We are seeking a focused and detail-oriented Manual QA Software Quality Assurance Analyst to join our engineering team. As a Software QA Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and the ecosystem in which they are integrated. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and teams to deliver high-quality software to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive risk management plans, test plans, test suites, and test cases to verify the functionality, usability, and performance of both Motivity software applications and integrated 3rd party partner systems
- Perform manual testing (functional, smoke, regression, exploratory, etc) to identify defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues in both web and mobile applications
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, customer success, and other stakeholders to understand and verify requirements
- Document and report defects, issues, and test results clearly and accurately, using designated bug tracking tools.
- Track, maintain, and communicate quality metrics to create visibility into overall product quality
- Work with customer success and product management stakeholders to investigate, verify, reproduce, and validate field and product issues raised by customers
- Maintain defect and field issue traceability and ensure relevant stakeholders are informed when defects are addressed
- Assist in the overall management of defects and field issues
- Work with development and product management stakeholders to identify and track opportunities to automate manual test cases
- Participate in test environment setup and data preparation activities ensuring the test environment is up to date and appropriate for testing
- Work with stakeholders to continually improve the QA process and methodologies
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, testing tools, and emerging trends in software quality assurance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality software releases
- Provide feedback and insights to improve the overall user experience and software quality
- Assist the team in estimating efforts and focusing on meeting deadlines and goals
- Participate in project meetings to offer QA’s perspective
- Develop expertise in all areas of each Motivity product and 3rd party integrated products
- This role does not have any direct reports, but may be required to provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience as a Manual QA Tester, including designing and executing test cases.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and defect tracking
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools and test management systems (e.g., Jira, Testrail)
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to identify and document defects and issues
- Knowledge of web and mobile application testing on various platforms and browsers
- Experience with different testing types, such as functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing
- Strong technical skills with ability to set up development environments and configure test instances and services
- A passion for investigating. You’re a wannabe detective who loves finding bugs and helping squash them!
- Experience in automated testing, performance testing, and stress testing is a plus, but not required
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in health technology industries, especially clinical software and/or practice management
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- What are your salary/contract rate expectations?
- Manual QA: 3 years (required)
- Health Technology Testing: 2 years (preferred)
- Test automation: 1 year (preferred)
