Objectives:
The person in the position is responsible to establish and manage the strategic development and commercialization of our technologies and new business development opportunities within CAM (cathode active materials) marketplace in China with a primary focus on x EV business development for BSBM (JV).

The person in the position is responsible to establish and manage the strategic development and commercialization of our technologies and new business development opportunities within CAM (cathode active materials) marketplace in China with a primary focus on x EV business development for BSBM (JV).
- To assume overall responsibility and accountability for sustaining existing business and for generating new opportunities to include market identification, competitive intelligence, product positioning, and value propositions etc.
- To plan and direct sales activities in countries of Asia Pacific in order to achieve agreed sales targets by implementing the BSBM Sales & BM’s GKAM (China based customers) strategy.
- Global key account management of all Chinese cell makers and strategic cell makers in China to support asset strategies in EU and NA.
- As the Head of x EV Business Management in BSBM, be fully responsible for daily operations of the x EV business unit by developing & implementing sales strategies to drive business
Main Tasks:
- Develop and monitor the implementation of sales strategies and activities to drive sustainable and profitable growth and achieve the annual sales targets and revenue goals.
- Define and lead key account management of key customers in China and of x EV business in BSBM China.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of market activities, technical development, industry trends, and legislative requirements to explain/introduce the company’s current and future strategies and/or make sound recommendation on modification/changes of strategies/practices.
- Prepare the budget and oversee the expenditures in the allocated areas to ensure sales activities are conducted with cost effectiveness.
- Keep strong collaboration with R&D, customer service, supply chain etc. to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for product and services.
- Identify development project pipelines and ensure the resources internally and trace the progress
- Develop and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to optimize a balance of sales, profitability and corporate objectives
- Support transplants activities (Korean and Japanese transplants in Great China & ASEAN, as well as Chinese transplants in Europe or ASEAN)
- Global key account management of CATL and any other Chinese cell makers who have their transplants in EU and USA.
- Maintain direct contact with customers’ key personnel and proactively work with customers and internal functions to resolve problems / expedite matters in a collaborative and effective way.
- Provide sales expertise and skills to enhance the performance of the sales team by coaching, providing exposure and development opportunities to the team members.
- Be accountable for and support further employee development in the team by actively participating in people related topics of employee recruitment, training succession planning, and development.
- Support and coordinate on major M&A transactions through our investment team
- Undertake necessary business travels and meetings, regular communications and exchanges with potential deal targets, 3rd party service providers, BASF regional office, and related parties
- Collect financial, industry and market data/information related to sound investment opportunities. Conduct analysis on business and financial opportunities related to target companies
- Draft deal documentations such as proposals, memorandum, management presentation, also participate and coordinate with investment team, 3rd party service providers in due diligence, deal valuation and financial structuring etc.;
- Engage actively the activities of TAA (Team Automotive Asia) and TAC (Team Automotive China) of BASF
- Education: Bachelor degree or above in Material Science, Electrochemistry or Chemistry
- Working experience: more than 8 years sales in Lithium ion battery industry or automotive industry. Optional (would be a plus) is with experience in strategic customer projects / business development.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge : B2B sales model
- Native speaker or very fluent in Mandarin; also fluent in both verbal and written English
