Sr GL Accountant

As the Senior GL Accountant, you are part of a Business Process Team that supports the finance operation in China.
About You
We’re recruiting a Sr GL Accountant reporting to the Finance Manager, China based in Shanghai.
This is an exciting role for a person who has strong Accounting & Tax experience to support the finance operation in China.

What You’ll Be Doing
Accounting and Tax
Hands-on preparing monthly closing activities. Lead and drive the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes to ensure timely and smooth MEC. Investigate unusual transactions, and fluctuations to ensure accurate financials and monthly both group and PRC reports. Reconcile and analyze BS and P/L and solve open items on time. Assist the Finance Manager with the cross-functions’ internal control process as operation, HR, etc. to supervise the accounting-related process and controls, e.g., revenue recognition process, payroll payment process, and T&E spending control process etc. Lead and streamline the intercompany process, to communicate with intercompany parties to identify and ensure correct cross-border charges. Be a key contact window with the global RTR team to ensure compliance of accounting treatment per IFRS. Inventory reconciliation and tracking (Sales return, provision, write-off, etc.). Be responsible for the yearly stocktaking. Handle fixed assets related work, including maintaining assets list, monthly depreciation and leading annual fixed assets count. Ensure compliance of the archive records to satisfy the requirements on the internal and external audit, tax, etc. Be able to coordinate the internal and external audits independently.
Reporting and Analysis
Provide insightful analysis report of GP/OP to track the business performance, and diligently work with relevant functions and deep dive on improvement. Keep track of DIO/ Inventory turns; Work with the supply chain on the working capital management against business demands. Collaborate closely with business teams to ensure material and unusual transactions have been captured properly. Lead and monitor the balance sheet account reconciliation and improvement follow-up, and regularly review with the Finance Manager. Perform analytical review of SG&A including actual/run-rate against AOP/forecast/last year. Be experienced in process analysis, optimization and improvements through cross-functional collaboration. Ad-hoc projects and tasks support

Location
This role is assigned to operate in Shanghai, Xuhui district
What You’ll have
- Solid PRC/IFRS and tax knowledge, and deep understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong in interpreting diverse business activities to propose accounting treatment per business substance.
- Mature communication skills to influence and drive collaboration.
- Self-motivated and proactive when facing challenges under working pressure.
- Bachelor's degree required, in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- More than 5-7 years of solid working experience in GL reporting. SAP is preferred.
- Fluent in English both oral and written
- Big4 experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Power BI, excel, power point, word) skills.
