Utility Data Entry Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Utility Data Entry Specialist to join our team. This role involves reviewing and manually scraping utility data from monthly invoices, with a specific focus on waste data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data sets accurately.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3+ years of related experience. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in data entry and analysis. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience working with utility data management systems. Knowledge of sustainability practices and principles. Understanding of energy efficiency and conservation concepts. Familiarity with reporting tools and software. Ability to handle and analyze large sets of data. Knowledge of real estate and property management industry.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Data Management
- Data Processing: Manually extract and input data into databases or spreadsheets with high accuracy. Review and analyze monthly utility invoices, focusing on waste data including but not limited to recycling, landfill, and composting data. Familiarity with manual data scraping techniques and tools.

Data Analysis Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Reporting: Generate regular reports summarizing key findings, trends, and performance metrics related to utility usage. Present findings to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. - Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance data collection processes to streamline efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to utility data collection and reporting. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis techniques, including statistical analysis, trend identification, and predictive modeling. Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Smart Sheets) and data analysis tools.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously collect, validate, and interpret large volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data management software, database querying languages (e.g., SQL), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement process improvements to optimize data collection and analysis workflows.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, adhering to deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to achieve common goals and objectives.
