As a Service Contract Manager your main responsibilities are undertaken prior to and during the service phase of offshore windfarms where you will support by providing advice and recommendations in relation to contractual and commercial issues affecting the delivery of operations & maintenance (O&M) services. You will be responsible for providing contract management support, clarifying contractual obligations and compliance there to while ensuring the company's commercial interests are always adequately safeguarded.
- Support the Service team through interpretation of the contract in terms of scope, obligations, rights and remedies, and provide summaries thereto
- Review incoming communications from the customer/contractors and, in coordination with the Service team, draft routine notices, submissions, and communications to be submitted in accordance with the contract
- Maintain and supervise an overview of claims, and coordinate evaluation and resolution of such claims with other department
- Support negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements to optimize the resolution of disputes under the relevant contracts
- Work closely with the Vestas Legal department
- Demonstrated contract and claims management experience with in-depth knowledge of preparing claim correspondence in connection with defect / warranty claims, cost claims and extension of time claims
- Significant experience in wind or heavy construction industries, ideally as a contract & claims manager
- Commercial awareness and acumen
- Significant claims management experience with in-depth knowledge of preparing claim correspondence in connection with defect / warranty claims, cost claims and extension of time claims
- Broad knowledge of the types and structure of contracts in the construction and energy industries (e.g., FIDIC)
- Professional qualifications (i.e. RICS) or relevant academic qualifications (i.e. legal qualifications related to construction industry) desirable
- Substantial negotiation and communication skills
- Attention to detail and significant organization skills
- Independent person, able to organize own workload with minimal supervision
- Understanding of cultural differences in an international and geographically diverse organization
- Accurate and pragmatic approach to contract management and enforcement
- Positive attitude and genuine interest in process improvements
- Legal and Business proficiency in written and spoken English
