Maersk Training is in search of a visionary leader for a new role as Head of Engineering based in Chennai or Denmark.
This strategic role is integral to our company's wider digital transformation journey and will oversee our technical software solutions on both front and backend. As Head of Software Engineering, you be responsible for our “Solutions” cluster, where you will oversee two technical teams through their respective managers, guiding them to meet our ambitious goals. You will ensure that we focus on building strong customer solutions and support our efforts to streamline and automate business processes.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Engineering at Maersk Training, you will play a pivotal role in driving both the vision and execution of our software solutions. Working closely with two talented managers, you'll ensure that our teams are aligned with business goals, delivering innovative and scalable solutions. Your leadership will balance strategic direction with solid understanding of hands-on execution.
Some of your responsibilities include:

• Oversee two technical teams, managing the technology investments and engineering budget.
• Translate business needs into value adding technical solutions (app and platform development).
• Oversee frontend and backend development
• Identify and implement process improvements through automation and integration, ensuring ongoing optimization.
• Optimize software development processes, emphasizing Agile, Dev Ops, and best practices for security and scalability.

We are Looking for

You have a high self-drive and thrive in a dynamic environment with ambitions to deliver outstanding results. You are comfortable taking on challenges that come your way, have a keen appetite for driving your team to perform their best without micromanagement.
You have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a senior leader from a digital first company (maybe a successful startup). Specifically, we expect you to have:

• Masters education Engineering (software)
• Practical experience with full stack software development
• Proven experience in a senior digital leadership role within the tech industry.
• Preferably experience with digital transformations
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
