COWI
Specialist or Project Manager - Environment
Kongens Lyngby
FULL TIME
September 1, 2024
Turn challenges into sustainable solutions
In COWI, we work to move Denmark in the direction of green transition, sustainability, climate adaptation and innovative urban development. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague to help us implement sustainability, green transition, and circular economy in practice. We are about 170 colleagues working alongside our customers on some of Denmark’s most significant projects within environmental conditions. And we are thrilled to have contributed to some of Denmark's most interesting projects in this area like HØST Pt X Esbjerg - a ground-breaking new Power-to-X plant.
We are looking for a Specialist or Project Manager, to join us on our journey to further the green transition of Denmark.
Your key activities will be:
- Preparation of Environmental assessments and environmental approvals/permits in the industrial area
- Preparation of baseline reports
- OML calculations (dispersion and deposition of air emissions)
- Sewer connection permits (tilslutningstilladelser)
- Discharge and percolation (nedsivning) of industrial wastewater
- BAT reference documents
- Dialogue with authorities in connection with environmental approvals/permits for industry and energy plants, Power to X (Pt X), Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) plants etc.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you - whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
We imagine that you have at least a few years of experience working with one or more of the areas mentioned above and you thrive in a role where you have direct contact with your clients.
On top of that, you will have:
- The drive to support our clients towards a greener future by identifying and recommending improvements within environmental aspects and processes.
- The ability to work structured and focused.
- At least 3 years of experience working with one or more of the fields above.
- Fluent in Danish – both written and spoken
- English on business level
A place to work and so much more
At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world. We do it by applying our knowledge and curiosity – and sometimes even our courage – to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow. That is why we say no to fossil-based projects and aspire to have 100 per cent of our revenue come from activities that move our customers towards sustainability.
We value differences and development and cultivate an environment of belonging and having fun. Because that is what brings out the best in you, at work and at home.
With offices primarily located in Scandinavia, the UK, North America and India, we are currently 7,300 people who bring their expertise in engineering, architecture, energy and environment into play.
Got more questions?
If you have any unanswered questions about the role or what we have to offer, please reach out to Head of Section Zabina Akhtar on +45 56403092.
We are happy to accept your CV and application in either Danish or English.
Diversity is fundamental to COWI, inclusion is key
We are committed to creating a respectful and fair work environment where all employees have a sense of belonging and equitable opportunities to thrive and grow. We ensure that our leaders are role models for inclusive leadership by cultivating a culture where diverse perspectives and thoughts are seen as strengths. And we take diversity and inclusion into account in all relevant decisions and processes and when setting teams and fora. We do it because it is part of our values and because it is simply the right thing to do.
