Job Responsiblies :
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of our Oracle databases. You will work collaboratively with development and operations teams to support database-related tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
Database Installation and Configuration:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and databases in development, testing, and production environments.
Implement best practices for database design and architecture.
Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
Monitor database performance and utilization to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL code, and database configurations for maximum efficiency.
Backup and Recovery:
Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies .
Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to mitigate data loss risks.
Security Management:
Implement and enforce database security policies, including access control, user authentication, and encryption measures.
Monitor for security vulnerabilities and apply patches and updates as necessary.
Database Maintenance:
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as table maintenance, index management, statistics gathering, and data purging.
Automate maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnose and troubleshoot database issues, performance problems, and connectivity issues.
Collaborate with application development teams to address application-specific database concerns.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, architecture, procedures, and changes.
Create and update operational procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and training.
Capacity Planning:
Monitor database growth, performance metrics, and user demand to ensure effective capacity planning.
Recommend hardware and software upgrades to accommodate growth and improve performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to support application deployments and upgrades.
Provide guidance and support to developers on database design and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (2:3 years) as an Oracle Database Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong proficiency in Oracle Database technologies.
Experience with SQL and PL/SQL programming for database development and performance tuning.
Knowledge of high availability solutions and disaster recovery planning.
Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: E£25,000.00 per month
