We are seeking an IT Configuration Manager to join our Metso IT team. You will be responsible for ensuring the Metso IT Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is properly configured, managed, and used, following all Metso IT security principles. This involves defining processes that manage the complete lifecycle of every IT Configuration Item (CI) and ensuring their linkages to Asset Management are properly set. Your role is crucial in maintaining a fully operational CMDB that can be trusted and properly used, which will contribute to efficient and effective service management processes. In this position, you will report to the Director, Service Integration Automation Management Office.

This position is located in Finland (preferably in Espoo or Tampere), and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.


Team you belong to

You will join a team of IT experts dedicated to ensuring the efficiency of our service management processes and bringing the business view to IT. We are currently developing robust configuration management processes and working on enhancing our CMDB capabilities as well as bringing the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) into practice in fundamental service management processes and reporting.

We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as IT service managers and owners, class owners, partners, process and ways of working coordinator, and business service owners., Our team culture is all about collaboration, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices. The members in our team are located in various locations worldwide.

What you'll do

• Ensure a fully operational CMDB that is properly used and maintained.
• Support in the right configuration of our discovery tools and support class owners on their needs.
• Align with the Ways of Working coordinator and User Experience Manager to define processes for using CMDB data.
• Ensure configuration management governance is set, with the right stakeholders attending governance meetings.
• Guide the team in making decisions in configuration management, aligning with asset management needs and Metso IT strategy.
• Define and participate in configuration management internal audits.
• Support efficient and effective service management processes and reporting by providing accurate configuration management information.
• Enhance Metso CMDB to follow the best solutions and align with market trends whenever is required and is supporting Metso IT operational model.

Who you are

• Strong understanding of IT configuration management principles and practices.
• Experience with managing CMDB and IT Configuration Items.
• Ability to set and maintain governance for configuration management.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.

• Familiarity with IT security principles.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with asset management and IT service management best practices.
