Would you be our new (Junior) Data Scientist to join our Data & Analytics team?

We are looking for a Data Scientist or a Junior Data Scientist to join our commercial operations squad, focusing on delivering impactful analytics for our consumer and corporate customers. This squad plays a critical role in supporting various business functions across Posti, including mail, parcels, warehousing, and freight. Our mission is to leverage data to drive business success and enhance customer experience.

As part of our Data & Analytics team, you'll concentrate on data science and MLOps, without needing to spend significant time on data engineering or platform building. Our state-of-the-art data platform, built on AWS, is already operational, allowing you to focus on developing and deploying advanced analytics solutions that support real-time decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a data-driven culture within a large international delivery and fulfillment company, impacting millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning and analytics solutions, including regression models, classification algorithms, time series forecasting, churn prediction, segmentation, and optimization.
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, BI Analysts, and other Data Scientists to ensure the delivery of high-quality analytics solutions that align with business goals.
Utilize your expertise in Python, Spark, Databricks, and AWS cloud services to solve complex business problems and deliver actionable insights.
Work on large datasets to uncover trends and insights that drive business decisions and improve customer experiences.

To succeed in this position, we hope that you have:

A passion for building analytics capabilities that drive business value, particularly within the commercial domain.
Experience in developing and deploying analytics solutions with tools like Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn), Spark (Pyspark), Databricks, and AWS (S3, EC2, ECR, Sagemaker).
Knowledge of cloud technologies, MLOps, and Kubernetes is a plus but not required.
A master’s degree or Ph.D. in statistics, computer science, mathematics, operational research, economics, or a related field is preferred.
Fluency in English is required; Finnish language skills are a plus.
