• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

AWS Health Omics is a HIPAA-eligible service that enables healthcare and life science customers to efficiently process genomic data at scale. Our team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Usability & Interfaces team.

In this role, you will own capabilities that champion how customers interact with our service, including API development, workflow and performance optimizations, and interfacing with high-performance computing (HPC). You will also get an opportunity to support a greenfield customer experience to simplify how life sciences researchers design and discover new drug therapies using state-of-the-art biological foundation models (Bio FMs).

You’ll thrive in this role if you prefer working on focused teams with high product visibility and ownership. You are a strong communicator who is comfortable pitching new ideas, and moving fast to make those ideas come to life. You are experienced in the entire product development cycle, including customer calls, planning, design, prototyping, launching, and managing operations.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
