Supply Planner

SUMMARY
The Supply Planner is responsible for the day-to-day and strategic planning of raw materials and packaging. This role closely collaborates with Purchasing to direct strategic buys and works in tandem with SIOP Team to ensure inventory objectives are achieved while maintaining service levels. The ideal candidate will manage the supply chain with a focus on aligning inventory levels with business goals, ensuring that production and service requirements are consistently met.
RESPONSIBILITES
•
Review and analyze forecast and inventory reports to determine supply needs.
•
Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans to ensure optimal inventory levels.
•
Direct and collaborate with Buyers, providing clear guidance on purchase quantities and optimal timing for material deliveries.
•
Align supply plans with business objectives, focusing on maintaining inventory targets and ensuring service levels are met.
•
Monitor market trends and adjust strategic buys as necessary to optimize costs and availability.
•
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing and SIOP Team, to support seamless supply chain operations.
•
Regularly review and optimize safety stock levels to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing excess inventory
•
Maintain accurate planning parameters such as Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and lead times.
TASKS AND DUTIES
•
Review forecast, upcoming production schedules, and current inventory levels to accurately plan for supply needs.
•
Create and maintain supply plans that support production schedules and customer requirements.
•
Monitor stock levels and place orders with suppliers to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
•
Track and report on key supply chain metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent skills and experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE
•
3-5 years related Supply Chain experience, direct Supply Planning experience a plus.
•
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel (very strong Excel skills desired) and in-house programs. SAGE X3 experience a plus.
•
Experience working in an ERP system.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
•
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•
Proven ability to analyze large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
•
Ability to balance opposing priorities and make decisions that support overall business objectives.
•
Experience working cross-functionally with various teams to achieve aligned goals.
•
Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
•
Skilled at finding and addressing areas of low efficiency, driving continuous improvement in processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
