Our client is a successful investment firm that manages the wealth of a renowned German family foundation. They are currently seeking a Controller, with additional responsibilities in treasury, to join their team and support them on their exciting journey. Their collaboration is characterized by teamwork, flat hierarchies, trust, reliability, and quick decision-making. The position is based in the Hamburg area, Germany. What the job involves
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for multiple international companies
- Conduct actual vs. budget comparisons and variance analyses
- Perform short and long term liquidity planning for various companies
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports/presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the development and optimization of controlling tools and processes
- Assist in evaluating and reporting on investments
- Build databases with key figures related to investments, returns, and cash flows
- Coordinate with external service providers and act as a sparring partner for their valuation approaches
- Cash management
- Assist in monitoring financial investments (stocks, bonds, money market funds)
- Prepare transactions/trades for securities, currencies, loans, and capital calls, including direct communication with banks and asset managers
- University degree in finance, economics, business studies or a related discipline
- Several years of experience either in banking, controlling or audit at a Big 4 firm
- Prior exposure to company valuations is beneficial, as well as experience in an asset management or PE firm
- Excellent analytical skills and a strong affinity for numbers
- High degree of loyalty, reliability, and confidentiality
- Independence, responsibility, diligence, teamwork, and quality awareness
- Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel, ideally Power BI)
- Experience with Luca Net and Nomentia is advantageous
- Fluent in German and English
