Interim Internal Audit (and Controls) Consultant

My client is a world leading media business (5,000 employees; <€1bn t/o, globally operating in more than 50 countries), which impacts and is used by millions of people every day.

The Head of Audit has asked me to look for an Audit Consultant (equivalent level to Senior Internal Auditor / Internal Audit Manager to complete an initial 6-month FTC (with the opportunity to extend for a further 6 months, or go permanent, if desired). It has been consistently voted as an “award-winning business” and their sustainability and environmental strategy has been commended internationally too.

As with most fixed-term consultant roles in governance, we are looking to get up to speed quickly - a very hands-on person, who will be prepared 'to do everything' from planning, to executing to reporting audits; and be able to interact with subject-matter-experts. This position gives the successful candidate an unrivalled insight into many aspects of the Group's operations and there are high levels of exposure to senior management and great opportunities to influence the direction of the business.

This would be an ideal role for someone with c. 5-10 years' (internal audit & controls) experience, with a background in audit/advisory/controls from training in a Big 4 / Top 10, a commercial business, or a mix of the two. You could be an established contractor, someone who is just starting their temp journey, or just between jobs for whatever reason (e.g. redundancy, etc.).

Due to the autonomy of the team, the role can be based anywhere in Europe where they have major operations & offices, such as the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Poland or Finland, with some minimal travel globally (- circa 10%). English is the language used by all of the business, so fluency is required, but local language knowledge is NOT required) . Other European languages such as Polish, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Finnish, and Swedish are seen as an advantage, but again, are not required. The right to live and work in your chosen location is required, however as the company will not sponsor visas.
