Xpedite Diagnostics is a young biotech company based in Hallbergmoos (Germany) right next to Munich Airport. We develop and manufacture new DNA extraction technologies (Swift X platform) that help to speed up diagnostic workflows while rendering them easier to handle, even without expensive instruments. Our solutions are applied in human & veterinary diagnostics as well as in environmental & food testing. Xpedite Diagnostics is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and is a registered IVD manufacturer.

The current team consists of 7 highly motivated people – different professions, different nationalities, different personalities. We combine our strengths to succeed in our adventure of introducing novel approaches to DNA extraction to different target markets. Of course, this is hard work for everyone and requires a fair amount of hard work, self-motivation, creativity, and assertiveness.

If you have already gathered experience in molecular biological or diagnostic laboratory work, that would be a plus in the selection process.

What would your Master thesis be about?

• We have a range of highly interesting MSc topics to offer that are relevant to our product portfolio
• You will perform for sure molecular biological bench work (extraction, amplification, detection of DNA/RNA)
• Depending on the actual topic, you may also work with microbiological agents such as bacteria and fungi
• Your experimental plan may also include biochemical aspects (bioanalytical experiments)

Requirements

• Solid theoretical background in Molecular Biology – you must be equipped to understand your work
• Meticulous work attitude valuing accuracy and precision – your work may contribute to the development of new products and application protocols
• Self-motivation and eagerness to learn new skills
• Very good English in speaking and writing – we are an international team and English is our working language
• Hands-on mindset – lab-work will be your main focus at least in the first half of your Master thesis
• Team spirit and open-mindedness – everyone is different and brings another value to the team
• Modesty and humbleness – you just start your career; do not think you are an expert in things yet
