Cooking Instructor
Job description
We are looking for an Instructor to teach our Cooking Training Programmes and workshops.
In this role you would run our educational programmes and workshops, teaching students the theoretical and practical essentials of cooking to develop the skills and confidence to access the culinary industry.

• Location: Attiki/Sepolia, Athens.
• Position: Part-time, up to 16 hours per week.
• Salary: 13 EUR per hour (gross).
• Start date: November 2024.
• Contract Length: 4 months.

Who are Project Armonia?
We are a non-profit organisation based in Athens, our mission is to promote and support equal access to nutrition and to education.
We act in solidarity with people who have limited or no access to food. In our professional and licensed kitchen (License No. 1263267) we cook tasty, and nutritious meals for displaced and homeless fellow-citizens of Athens.
To promote equal access to education, we also run cooking workshops and Cooking Training Programmes certified by ACTA- a Spin off of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (License No. 1169), for those that cannot afford educational fees in the Culinary Industry.
Job Description

• Teaching and implementation of Armonia’s Cooking Training Programme, educational activities and workshops.
• Developing teaching materials, such as presentations, worksheets, study material.
• Ordering of food, non-food items and equipment needed for teaching.
• Monitoring and evaluating lesson plans and content in accordance with the teaching syllabus in collaboration with the Programmes Manager.
• Supporting students with preparation for examinations.
• Monitoring student attendance.
• Reporting all maintenance and development needs for all educational spaces,
• Monitoring of and compliance with the department’s budget.
• Participation in team and departmental meetings for organisational and operational purposes where needed.

Person Specification

• At least two years as a Chef, or a Cook A.
• Certification of cooking skills and food safety training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in cooking teaching/ instructing.
• A strong team player with a flexible attitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Able to act on own initiative and take responsible decisions, and to work well both independently and within a team.
• Ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cooking experience levels.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
• Have the right to work in Greece.
• Good knowledge of Google drive, documents, and sheets.
• Experience working with NGOs.

Other information

• A fixed-term 4 months contract under Greek law, with possibility of extension.
• Working hours: 16 hours per week.
• 840 EUR per month, 13 EUR per hour (Gross).
• 25 days annual leave, pro rata, in addition to public holidays.
• Working hours: Tuesdays (12.30 - 20.30) & Fridays (9:30 - 5:30).
• Location: Avlonos 14, Sepolia, Athens, 104 43.
