IT Support Engineer

People Cert is looking for a IT Support Engineer who will be responsible for the support of various IT activities. You will contribute your domain specific knowledge, skills and best practices working closely with a team of talented professionals who have created an ISO 27001 certified operational environment operating on 24/7 basis, based on a hybrid infrastructure with heavy virtualization on Cloud and Office 365 services.
As an IT Support Engineer, your tasks will include the following:
- Provide Tier 1, diagnosis and resolution to end-users (Clients) for PC hardware and standard software related incidents;
- Conduct meetings with clients to diagnose and repair software, networking, or hardware issues, malfunctions and problems;
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of new and existing software and hardware (e.g. printing systems, audio/visual systems and corporate Pcs);
- Monitor efficiency and assist in troubleshooting of the company’s critical systems;
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes;
- Liaise with facilities team and support with office moves, meeting rooms' setups and exam room equipment;
- Support the IT Support Manager in delivering end-users exploitation and training initiatives on IT tools;
- Provide all documentation and descriptions required for purchasing order items;
- Maintain the security standards of the organization.
What we look for:
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields;
- Basic IT certifications (e.g., Comp TIA IT Fundamentals, Comp TIA A+) and familiarity with Windows/Mac OS environments and basic networking concepts is preferred;
- Proven work experience in supporting end users with desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware and software installations;
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and communicate with various levels of management;
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative environment;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a “can do “ attitude;
- Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, Language Cert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus);
- Professional with self-presentation and social skills with a friendly attitude;
- Superb attention to detail; Strong work ethic, team spirit and excellent problem-solving skills.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by People Cert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to People Cert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by People Cert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
