We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ph.D. Candidate to participate in the EU Doctoral Network “Co Co Gel,” which aims to provide integrated training for young researchers in the field of Soft Matter and related Industrial Applications. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ph.D. Candidate to participate in the EU Doctoral Network “Co Co Gel,” which aims to provide integrated training for young researchers in the field of Soft Matter and related Industrial Applications. Key activities and responsibilities of this role include
- Perform a comprehensive study to gain a fundamental understanding on the connection between processing conditions, solution structure before drying, during drying, and the overall performance of the electrodes/films produced
- Relate these processes to the electrode microstructure, particularly electronic conductivity, to further improve the manufacturing of high-quality electrodes
- Experimental tools rheometry, and combination with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (Rheo-EIS) and confocal microscopy (rheo-confocal), and TEM/SEM and rheo-conductimetry in collaboration with FORTH and CNRS
- Evaluation of electrode performance, fabricated with the developed processing protocols in prototype batteries will be performed at Sunlight
- Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Background in Soft Matter Science
- Prior knowledge of scattering and rheology and electrochemical characterization of electodes will be a good asset
- Should not have resided in Greece for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding recruitment
Dates & Remuneration
- 3 years starting in September 2024. The candidate will sign an 18-month contract with Sunlight and an 18-month contract with FORTH (Foundation for Research & Technology – Hellas)
- Gross salary: 2.760€ to 3.130€ per month
