The Opportunity

Are you a new or recent school leaver and have completed your Leaving Certificate or Post Leaving Certifcate? Why not apply to our Earn & Learn Programme and get the opportunity to build a career at Eir Grid whilst gaining a qualification at the same time!

As a participant on the programme, you will have the opportunity to build a career within our Market Operations function where you will grow your knowledge, skills and understanding of how the electricity market operates across the Island of Ireland and Europe.

What’s in it for you?

Starting this Autunm, our two year programme offers participants a comprehensive onboarding programme where you will develop both your technical competencies and soft skills to assist you in making the leap from being successful as a student to being effective in a dynamic corporate environment.

You will be provided with a mentor to ensure you have the necessary support and guidance throughout the Programme.

And that’s not all, you will have the opportunity to undertake a fully funded part-time 3rd level qualification in a Business related discipline.

As a participant on the Programme, you’ll also be making a difference to the future of the planet: As we lead the way in the transition to managing renewable energy on the grid, graduates will have an exciting role to play as we prepare the grid to carry 80% of Ireland’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

What We're Looking For
If you have these skills and attributes, we want to hear from you:

• You are driven, motivated and a self-starter.
• You can demonstrate your motivation and interest in working in the energy sector.
• You want to learn.
• You're prepared to balance full-time employment with part-time study.
• If you have previous working experience or have completed an internship within an energy of financial business, that's great. However, it is by no means a requirement.
• You will have completed your Leaving Certificate and have, or expect to get, a minimum of two honour grades (H5s), and a minimum of four ordinary level grades (O6), including a minimum O6 in ordinary level Maths and a minimum O6 in an ordinary level language (English, Irish or another language) after 2019
• Or a completed a QQI Level 5 Post-Leaving Certificate after 2020.
• You will be available to start from September 2024.
