Venue Attendant
St. Peters, North Main Street is seeking to appoint a Venue Attendant.
St. Peters is a public building that is open to the public displaying a variety of cultural, historical or art exhibits. The venue is also available for private hire events such as civil weddings, corporate events & meetings, or performances. There is a Café that offers a selection of drinks & snacks.
The role is Full Time, 39hrs and includes weekend work.
Usual work hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm, but some events may require availability outside of these hours.
Typical duties include:
· Opening and closing the venue
· Dealing with enquiries and welcoming visitors to the venue
· Facilitating events that are booked at the venue
· Setting up the venue for various events
· Moving displays, chairs, tables and equipment
· Assisting in the café, serving and taking payment
· General cleaning and upkeep of the venue
Experience/ skills required.
· A general interest in Culture, art, history
· Enjoys manual work
· Passion for delivering excellent customer service
· Ability to take initiative.
· Ability to work with a team.
· Being able to adapt to changing situations effectively.
· Experience working in retail or other public facing roles such as receptions, café, museums or visitor centres desirable.
