About Us:
At Whelehans Pharmacy, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our patients, including those in nursing homes. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team, focusing on managing and dispensing monthly and daily medication orders for nursing home patients.
Key Responsibilities:

• Dispensing Medications: Accurately prepare and dispense monthly and daily medication orders for nursing home patients, ensuring all prescriptions are filled correctly and efficiently.
• Medication Management: Oversee the stock levels of medications for nursing home patients, ensuring that all required medications are available and ready for dispensing.
• Liaison with Nursing Homes: Communicate effectively with nursing home staff to coordinate medication orders, clarify prescriptions, and address any queries related to patient medication.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all medications are dispensed in accordance with regulatory standards and pharmacy best practices, with a strong focus on patient safety.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed, including batch numbers and expiration dates, as well as any relevant patient information.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks to ensure that all medications are stored and dispensed under optimal conditions, adhering to all relevant guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Pharmacy Technician qualification with at least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Experience with dispensing medications and managing medication orders, particularly for nursing home patients, is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both the pharmacy team and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and software.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and guidelines in Ireland.
