KD Group is a well-established Mechanical Engineering company with projects nationwide.
We have exciting new projects secured in the Connaught, Limerick, Athlone areas for the next number of years and seeking to hire experienced Working Site Foremen and Qualified Plumbers for these projects locations. We have full-time, permanent positions. Opportunities available to progress within the company, if desired.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of new and existing projects in line with KD Group policies, procedures, EHSQ and targets. This role reports directly to Contracts Managers.
SITE FOREMAN
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings and liaise daily with CM and contractors.
• Become familiar with all details and specifications of the project.
• Input on technical submittals as required.
• Raising and managing RFI’s.
• Manage labour tracker.
• Maintaining progress reports weekly.
• Report and manage any changes/variations with the KD Group QS on the project.
• Resourcing - responsible for direct and specialist sub-contractors
• Liaison with main contractors and the client-based site team
• Coordination and delivery of project plant and equipment
• Update program gains/losses to Contracts Manager weekly
• Assisting Contracts Manager in developing commissioning plan.
• Implementing the commissioning plan on site.
• Manage KD Group handover process.
• Maintaining KD Group Document Management System.
• Meetings as required with Subcontractors to ensure on time delivery.
• Communicate/Coordinate with full project team.
• Attend general site meetings and action points raised.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS - This role has new and/or existing tradesmen and Specialists Sub-Contractors reporting to them.

QUALIFIED PLUMBERS
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pipe bending, pipe joining, pipe fitting, inspection and testing, fault diagnosis. Identification of materials, rothernberger brazing, installing and maintaining; fuel storage and distribution systems, fire control systems, natural and LPG systems, cold water storage tanks, heating systems, sanitation systems, cold and mains water services, watermains, hot water cylinders and calorifiers, hot water services flues and verification, compressed air systems, steam pipework
• Pre-commissioning of plumbing and mechanical services, pre-commissioning of air handling units
• Knowledge of industrial and process gases and liquids, medical gases, electrical controls for central heating and air conditioning systems, hot and cold-water services, plumbing systems, solid fuel and oil-fired boiler/ burner units’ pumps, air conditioning systems, roof work
• Reading drawings and specifications, planning, basic electricity, bracket fabrication, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, bronze welding, soldering, manual metal arc welding, tungsten inert gas welding, setting out, measuring, transferring levels, use and care of tools, safety, scaffolding, rigging.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Selection Criteria / Person Specification: Essential

• National Craft Certificate
• Valid Training Certificates - Safe Pass, Manual Handling, etc.
• Industrial Plumber Experience +3 years min.
