Westland Horticulture is a leading producer of gardening products, supplying garden centers and commercial growers throughout the UK and Ireland.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Transport Planner and the successful applicant will be a member of our team, working in a production facility based in Birr, Co Offaly.
The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and will take responsibility for the following duties:
· Providing real time co-ordination of transport planning within the production unit.
· Help oversee logistics planning, communicating with production management team ensuring supply and demand requirements are fulfilled.
· Liaising with drivers / 3rd party hauliers daily.
· Investigate any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in future.
· General booking deliveries / printing loading notes etc
· Management of plant passporting and phytosanitary certificates for some loads
· Address any invoice queries and liaise with relevant accounts departments, internally and externally.
· Coordination of transport planning for some 3rd party suppliers
Essential Criteria:
· Experience of working in a busy environment
· Ability to problem solve under pressure.
· Ability to work under minimum supervision.
· Computer literate, including advanced competence in core MS Office applications especially Excel.
· Excellent data processing skills - speed & accuracy.
· Excellent communication & organisational skills.
· Methodical, logical and possess excellent attention to detail.
Experience booking transport for Ireland and UK.
