Vendor Quality Technician

Hours of Work:
8.30am - 5.15pm Monday - Thursday
8.30am - 3.30pm Friday
This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager, the duties of the role will include, but are not limited to the following.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Work through vendor quality issues on the Non-conformance work bench and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintaining accurate data within the Vendor Quality data module
- Resolve non-conformances with the relevant stake holders while minimising any disruption to the Production function.
- Progress reports weekly to the SCM and Production Pit meetings on issues which have arisen.
- Handling components and where necessary arrange and facilitate logistics to transport faulty components to vendors.
- Prepare accurate technical reports of non-conformances and submit to the vendor for review.
- Upon request from the SCM, carry out vendor audits with onsite visits.
- Assist in processing parts rejects from production defects trolleys.
Preferable Skills and Qualifications Required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently in resolving issues.
- Qualification or relevant industry experience relating to Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Ability to evaluate mechanical or electrical components to determine mode of failures.
- Results (improvements) Orientated.
- Proven track record in implementing improvements desirable.
- Brings a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Highly motivated by high quality standards
- Works well under pressure and experience in meeting deadlines
- Organized, good attention to detail and good record keeping
- Has basic working knowledge of the core Microsoft package (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
- Able to Travel
- Ability to liaise and negotiate with Vendor representatives including Managing Director levels within corporations.
