Auburn Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their team from December 2024.

The Role
Discover a new challenge

• Full-time, Maternity Cover Contract for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon
  

• 70% Small Animal – general first opinion practice, routine surgery, diagnostics and emergency
  

• 30% Large Animal – general farm calls, calving/sections. No TB testing
  

• Salary is up to €60,000 commensurate with experience level
  

• Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
  

• OOH is 1 night per week and 1 in 4 weekends
  

• Start date in December 2024

• VCI Registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in Ireland
  

• SA Skills: Must be competent in basic, routine surgery (Cat & Dog spays, castrations, lump removals etc)
  

• LA Skills: Must be competent in Calving/Sections
  

• All levels of experience will be considered however must be able to perform the above procedures without support

Auburn Veterinary Hospital is a busy mixed practice located in Mullingar. We are located about 45 minutes from Dublin in the heart of the midlands, and accessible by public transport routes. Mullingar is a hub of bustling activities with many varieties of sporting clubs from cycling, triathlon, GAA, rugby and more. Our canal is a hotspot for exciting water sports, walking and cycling routes. In the town itself you can find plenty of amazing cafes, restaurants and pubs for an engaging social life.

Our friendly practice is made up of 4 full-time Veterinary Surgeons, 2 part-time Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Veterinary Nurses and 3 support staff. We are proud of our cohesive and well-established team. We work closely together in all aspects of our roles and believe that each member of our team is vital.
