J Ryan Haulage Ltd are currently looking for a Workshop Supervisor for their depot in Kill, Co. Kildare

Experience working in motor or haulage industry an advantage.

Main Tasks / responsibilities:
- Daily Management of the Workshop
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Allocating Workload to appropriate Technicians
- Managing repair time in line with capacity and in line with Transport expectations
- Constant communication with Compliance and Transport to ensure they are kept informed on the status of vehicles.
- Ordering parts and oversee parts stores, maintain procedures with Technicians.
- Liase with suppliers and compliance on Workshop Parts stock requirements
- Record Warranty issues and parts returns and Liaise with compliance to ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Ensure workshop procedures are in accordance with company policy, RSA, FTA & Brand standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements (also including cleanliness of Workshop & Canteen)
- Working with Compliance in terms of monitoring Technician Performance, any issues to be highlighted and addressed in terms of company policy.
- Liase with Compliance Manager to identify and develop opportunities to drive the performance of the Service department.
- Daily/ weekly reporting to Compliance and Transport
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Manage the daily operation of the workshop.
- Dealing with defects and breakdowns as they arise
- Monitor all job cards and workshop documentation.
- Supervise and manage all workshop Technicians and support staff.
- Ensure that invoicing of all work is managed on an ongoing basis for third party work.
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with Company procedures
- Ensure that the productivity and efficiency levels of the Technicians is maintained at agreed levels.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping on the workshop floor.
- Working with our established team of Transport Planners, leading by example and constantly mentoring individual performance.
- Communicate with Compliance and Transport to ensure that timely and cost effective work is always carried out.
- Finalising all workshop jobs, including clocking, quality control and sign off
- To undertake training as may be required from time to time including training provided by Martin Ryan Haulage as may be necessary from time to time.
- Hold appropriate driving licences to under-take checks unaided on all vehicles.
