The Finance Control team is an energetic team of Financial Control experts with a strong focus on mitigating financial reporting risks within ING Bank Netherlands, the largest entity of ING Group.

Our team ensures that ING Bank Netherlands is in control over the figures in financial reports such as the annual accounts and regulatory reports like FINREP and Liquidity Reporting. We are expert consultants for over 20 Business Tribes, such as Mortgages, Business Lending, Data Management, Financial Reporting and Credit Risk Management. The Finance Control Team has high exposure towards Senior Management and our external auditor.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who gets energy from acting as a Risk & Control Business Partner to various stakeholders, thereby enhancing the finance control framework within ING Bank Netherlands in an innovative and data-driven way. The Finance Control team is part of the Financial Accounting department.

Your role
As a Finance Control Specialist you will operate as a trusted business partner and hands-on consultant that advises and supports our Tribes on the design of control frameworks to mitigate financial reporting risks (including SOx404). You also support the Tribes in responding to the related (ad-hoc) questions from our external auditors. In addition, you will closely monitor progress on timely execution of controls, and remediation of control defects.

You work within a fast paced, high demanding and digital environment. Within our self-steering team, you will play an important role in ensuring that the semi-annual In Control sign-off of our CEO and CFO is of the highest quality, and you will support other team members. Lastly, you will also be supporting the Financial Accounting department with Non-Financial Risk related topics.

Your most important tasks will include:

• Being a seasoned and reliable Business Partner to the Business Tribes on SOx404-related topics
• Supporting the Finance Control team with the In Control Sign-off process for ING Bank Netherlands on Statutory and Regulatory Reports
• Significantly contributing to being compliant/in-control over Non-Financial Risk related topics (incl. ESG)
• Significantly contributing to the remediation of SOx-deficiencies
• Providing support for the implementation of SOx-compliant manual and IT-application controls within the Bank.
• Cooperation with internal -& external service organizations to ensure ING remains in control from end-to-end
• Support with the creation of In Control Dashboards
• Enhancement of Risk & Control awareness within ING Bank Netherlands

Furthermore, you have:

• An academic degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field. A CIA, ACCA, RA (or international equivalent) is a plus
• 5+ years of work experience in (external/internal) audit with a focus on the financial industry. A Big-4 background is a big plus
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting risk mitigating practices according to SOx404
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Affinity with IT, Data and Data Management topics
