Bitvavo is seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Strategy and Planning to partner with our CTO, CPO, and the growing engineering and product teams. This role is crucial for driving strategic initiatives, optimizing planning processes, and steering the long-term direction of our engineering and product functions. You will serve as a key thought leader in shaping our strategic roadmap and ensuring alignment across the organisation.
Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of our teams, guiding the successful execution of high-impact projects and initiatives. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong background in strategy consulting, business planning, and project management. As Bitvavo continues to grow rapidly, this role offers the opportunity to influence our engineering and product strategies at the highest level.

How will you make an impact?

• Act as a strategic advisor to the CTO and CPO, driving the formulation and execution of long-term strategies for engineering and product development
• Lead the strategic planning process, including financial forecasting, scenario planning, and resource allocation. Provide detailed business analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
• Enhance operational efficiency by standardising processes, automating reporting, and implementing best practices in planning and control
• Oversee and coordinate cross-departmental projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timely execution of strategic initiatives
• Serve as a key liaison between the CTO, CPO, engineering and product teams, board members, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment on strategic priorities
• Lead and manage organizational change initiatives to support the growth and scalability of our engineering and product functions
• Take ownership of other ad-hoc, high-priority projects, including market analyses, business case development and event planning (e.g., all-hands meetings, workshops)

How will you be successful?

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably gained in a reputable consultancy firm or within the financial or tech sectors
• This role is based in the Netherlands, so you must either already be here or be willing to relocate (from European countries only)
• Demonstrated experience in strategy development, business planning and consulting, with a strong track record of driving strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment
• Proven ability to manage budgets, conduct financial modelling and provide strategic financial insights, particularly within the engineering or technology sectors
• Proficiency in data analysis and advanced knowledge of financial modelling tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel)
• The ability to communicate strategic concepts with clarity and influence, while confidently advising senior leaders
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with an entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Expertise in leading complex, cross-functional projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
• A skilled listener and trusted advisor, capable of building strong relationships and driving consensus across diverse teams
